Suntory (Aust) are pleased to introduce three award winning premium gins to their portfolio from June 2011. Each Gin is uniquely different, produced from a different origin - Scotland, England and Spain and using botanicals unique to their region.
Caorunn (pronounced ‘ka-roon’) comes from the Gaelic word for the Rowan Berry. Caorunn is a handcrafted, small batch distilled Scottish gin, created using pure grain spirit and infused with six traditional botanicals and five celtic botanicals. The Celtic botanicals, which include Rowan Berry, Bog Myrtle, Dandelion, Heather and Coul Blush Apple, lend the liquid its distinct flavour.
The gin is produced at a working malt whisky distillery in the remote Scottish Highlands using a unique Copper Berry Chamber made in the 1920’s. The process is deliberately slow which gives the botanicals more time to infuse the spirit with their subtle flavours.
Caorunn Gin holds the Gold Medal at the 2009 International Beverage Awards for Premium Gin.
Finsbury Platinum, a London Dry Gin, is still made to a 250 year old secret recipe at the distillery founded in London by Joseph Bishop in 1740. Today, as then, Finsbury is distilled using a unique mix of botanicals including juniper berries, exotic fruits and a host of herbs and spices in elegant John Dore copper pot stills (the “Rolls Royce” of gin stills) and according to a complex method handed down from the 18th century. Truly representative of the London Dry style preferred both internationally and in Great Britain, it is a particularly fine and restrained gin.
Finsbury is the only gin that has the right to use the coat of arms of the City of London in its logo and communication. It has received the highest accolades, including the IWSC London 2006 (Gold Medal Best in Class and Trophy), 2010 (Gold Medal Best in Class) and ISC London 2010 (Gold Medal Winner Super Premium Gin).
Gin Mare is the first premium Mediterranean gin.
Gin Mare represents a whole new world of sensations. Four principal botanicals, the Arbequina olive, rosemary, basil and thyme, harmonize with four other notes: juniper, coriander, green cardamom and citrus fruits. From a base of premium barley spirit, the botanicals are delicately macerated – lasting up to a year in the case of the citrus fruits. Once the macerates have captured the essential oils and flavour of the raw ingredients, they are then distilled individually using Gin Mare’s boutique custom built 180L copper Florentine still. Finally comes the hand blending process which allows each botanical to reveal its character in the end product.
Gin Mare holds numerous International Awards including Gold Award - International Wine & Spirits Competition 2010 and Gold Award - Beverage Testing Institute 2010.
